Bit, being who is he, gets very scruffy, so he goes to the groomer on a regular basis to get dapper again.
OTOH, Dresi spends his time molting and blowing his coat all over my house. And when I say molting, that's exactly what it looks like -giant spots of fur just waiting to be picked off.
Over the years, I've tried everything - shedding tools, regular brushing, furminators (got stuck in his fur!!!!), and finally resigned myself to having one dapper dog and one that was constantly molting.
Then I saw the light and paid for Dresi to have a spa day. OMG! OMGGGGGGG! He's a different dog! Sleek and beautiful as he should be. Plus he has a cute bandana (that alone is clearly worth the cost).
Both boys go to DeeDee and Sunshine downtown - I can't recommend her enough. She has a true love of dogs, and so does her staff. She doesn't crate any of the dogs, as she feels it makes them anxious.
The first time I took Bit, she made him the first appointment of the day. He was shaking like a fiend, and she just sat on the floor with him about 2-3 feet away and held his leash and quietly talked to me, and sweetly telling him what a good boy he was. Every minute or two, she'd give a very gentle tug on the leash, and eventually Bit started taking a step or two towards her. When he got to her, she just kept on talking, and slowly started scratching his ear.
Now he still shakes, but trots back willingly. And when he's done, he goes to the waiting area, and hops on a dog bed to wait for me. What a change!
I absolutely love her!

Ooof. My lab/beagle and lab chow both molted like crazy. I just pulled handfuls of fur out (without brushing or combing). I’d take Carrie, the lab/chow, outside and brush and brush and brush. The birds loved using her furs for nesting. I feel your pain.

Yeah, some woman dropped off a defective dog - he's naughty as hell and sheds like a maniac! My neighbor is watching his son's dog for a little while. Tucker looks like a light brown version of Dresi! Tail isn't as curly, and he doesn't have half as much fur, but they're the exact same size. Of course, Dresi is sleeker and all around a much better dog, but we're letting Tucker come to that realization himself

I’m sure Dresi feels so much better, having been rid of all that undercoat -lighter, cooler, less itchy. He will enjoy your days on the deck that much more!
