It is totally my dumbass, klutzy fault. I was prepping my meal (yes, penne Alla vodka), it was in the oven, all set. All I had to do was press the start button. I had dropped some ice cubes as I was removing them from the fridge, and unknowingly, one dropped behind the fridge and landed on the outlet extender (that Woot! had informed me had been recalled due to possible fires). I reached out to hit start on the oven and CLICK! The surge protector shut everything off. The fridge, oven, and my Wi-Fi thingy. I removed the faulty outlet extender, replaced the surge protector (after clearing up the mess behind there) but still no power. Went out to the breaker box but could see no breakers tripped. Holy crap! I had just received a food shipment that day, so I had to move the fridge to another outlet. It’s currently sitting on the floor outside the bathroom, so it is an obstacle course getting in and out of there now. I checked the outlet, but there is no reset button. Is this outlet totally dead now? Unusable?
Ive moved the Wi-Fi thing so it is charging up now. But I’m not sure where I can move the oven. Maybe I should just forget about the meals. I heated the pasta up in the microwave and it was fine, but some of the other meals require more than nuking.
Fuck me.

Make sure to turn the breaker all the way off and then back on. 99% sure that's the problem.

And get rid of that power strip.

Make sure to turn the breaker all the way off and then back on. 99% sure that's the problem. The problem is, can no longer tell which breakers are for the kitchen stuff. The writing has faded on the box. And, since everything else in the kitchen is working, it has to be a small one that controls just the island, which is where the outlet is. I already trashed the power strip.

Thanks for reminding me. I was supposed to go through our panel and verify and mark them in sharpie. There's also a cheap thing you can buy that's preprinted stickers for the sides of the breakers. Adding those to my Amazon list in 3... 2......

If you don't know which one it is then you can reset them all, or in groups maybe?

I reset just reset every breaker in the box that controls the lower levels, except for the garage. (I can still read the labels on the other box, and none of those concern the kitchen.). I replaced the surge protector with a brand new one. Still no juice for the Tovala oven.

Flipped all the garage ones. Besides the overhead light associated with the broken door (it’s frozen shut) , no change. But I did discover that one of them is marked GFI, so maybe the outdoor outlets work now.

Yup. Not at all surprised since we've been through this before. 😂
Now try every single breaker you haven't tried. Because you just. Never. Know.

You didn't buy that house brand new did you? I mean the things I have seen in the name of home improvement, renovation, and the worse of them all, flipped. That leg to the kitchen island could have been tapped off of just about any 20 amp feed including the appliances and even parts of your ac system.

Already reset the AC ones (heard the go off and back on when doing the flip). I’ll try the others. Yes, I bought it brand new. But I added a generator, so there’s a panel that was installed for that.

Are there any gfci outlets in the kitchen with the reset buttons? Once upon a time they would put only one on the circuit and wire the regular outlets off of it, essentially making the whole circuit gfci just not from the panel. Which would explain how you can lose a circuit without tripping the breaker. Same with bathroom outlets. There's one gfci outlet in one bathroom that feeds the other bathroom outlets.

I couldn’t find any resets on any of the kitchen outlets. Besides, I have been using one to recharge my iPad for some time. Wouldn’t that be dead, too?
I managed to string some surge protectors together to get my oven power. Of course, I’ve created a tripping hazard extraordinaire! Exactly what a klutz like me doesn’t need. 😂. I did it mainly to make sure the oven was still working but I may leave it that way until after dinner tonight.

So you hooked up new surge protectors to a different outlet and the thing has power now?
Maybe a blown outlet that needs replacing?

That’s what I’m thinking. But it will have to wait until the AC is fixed. It was 77 degrees in the coolest part of the main level as I headed upstairs around midnight last night. And 75 when I came down. The upstairs unit is struggling, too. I. Hate. Summer.
