I have to say that I'm more than concerned that all Trump got was a warning to not threaten anyone when his case came before the judge the other week.
I get the reasoning - if Trump was anyone else, the judge would have to give him a warning about what was acceptable and give him a chance to make amends.
The issue is that A - Trump is clearly going to ignore most of this, and B - he's using this to play to his base. "They" are out to get all of "Us". This is a clear-cut case of political persecution by a liberal judge and a liberal administration. Witch hunt for sure! He will avenge all of his followers who are under attack by these nefarious people who are coming after him!
While it would have been great to jail him, I think that he should have been greatly restricted on what he could say during campaign appearances - if the indictments were mentioned, all he could say was that he was innocent and he could show it and nothing more. And told that if he or his campaign staff didn't toe that line, then it was contempt of court and off to jail for them!
Total gag order - neither side can say anything other than 'I can prove my case in court'. That way, Trump could have been jailed before this weekend was over. But since he's out there tacitly calling for violence and riling up his base (over 50% of Republicans and 78% of MAGAS say this this is political persecution and an attempt to take away Trump's right to free speech now), things could get ugly if he's not stopped now.

He should already be in jail for about 1000 years. He has single handedly brought the foundational principles of this Constitutional Democracy to it's knees. He used his expert knowledge of how to get away with breaking laws to exploit the powers of the presidency and the executive branch and the made how law is applied to it a gray area at best. The damage he has done is irreversible unless he's tried and punished to the fullest extent.

Expert knowledge. 🤣🤣🤣
Don’t you love how he has moderated his speech to include “I thought” and “in my opinion” now?
And I think he is pushing her to punish him. He wants another riot. Bigly.
He should have been jailed when he was charged with espionage. I’m sure those sailors accused of selling secrets to China are sitting in a cell right now.

Yup - he's pushing for jail time to incite violence big time.
That's why I was saying he should have been gagged right from the start and prevented from mentioning the case at all other than to say he would prove his innocence in court. And everyone around him should have been gagged as well. Note how the prosecutors have said nothing about the case - they understand the importance of keeping the integrity of shit.
She should have put him on house arrest and banned him from making any statements regarding the case - he could campaign remotely as long as he didn't bring up the case.

Count em' folks, four indictments. The newest includes something like 160 counts and several of the Biggest Liars are also charged. Now we need these trials to get underway. I still have my doubts but today looks a little bit brighter than yesterday.

Yeah, we need these trials to start and start before the end of the year. Fat chance of that happening, as his yet-to-be-paid legal team will probably do everything in their power to delay the legal process. And Trump will do everything in his power to avoid paying them too.

Yep and yep. They will attempt to drag it on forever using whatever the claim of the day is and they'll probably have everything tied up at least that long if SCROTUS decides to get involved.

The latest charges provide the biggest challenge to the defendant, as a RICO conviction requires completion of the full sentence - no parole or probation allowed. Plus, there is no chance of a pardon!
But I wonder how Lindsey get off. Is he a witness for the prosecution?
Oh, and I believe that TFG will be bigly disappointed when his minions fail to show up at his next violent mob call.

This is 100% the problem - as long as he has his platform to spew lies that his spokespeople keep repeating, the odds of a fair trial get reduced.
But since he claims he can easily refute the Georgia charges, let's get that trial started before the first of October - sounds like he and his legal team have a nice airtight defense already!

Well, at least they scheduled before the primary election. And I suspect this will be the easiest case to prove. Wonder how being convicted of voter fraud will affect Republicans who aren't part of the MAGA crowd. Will they finally say enough is enough? Probably not.

tdkehoe.medium.com/thirteen-similarities-between-donald-trump-and-adolf-hitler-3a97a8055ddeIf you feel so inclined. The topic has been on my mind although if you want to make this argument you really ought to have the coldest and hardest points so that counterpoint is futile. Obviously that would only be useful to a handful of whomever may still possess the power of objectivity. I'm not 100% sure about many things but I feel like all the evidence is there should one choose to study it. And I'd like to see what social media has the balls to allow my pov in this regard and with my own carefully crafter op.

Afterthought-
What if his opposition, including the open few (Liz for example) party, used these easy comparisons every day at every microphone? Could it change anything?

No. It’s a cult. Nothing will change their minds. Ever. They cannot allow themselves to admit they’ve been deceived, conned, manipulated, etc.
And then there are the ones that broke their oath to protect the constitution in order to support/deceive/lie/manipulate to prove their support.

Note that I was talking about the non-cultists and maybe even the borderline ones. Back when I did my last job there was a guy who told me he voted for him but never again. That would be the type I'm talking about. At some point people of conscious will come around. The ones that aren't, won't. As for the sycophants in congress and elsewhere, they better hope their MAngo MeSSiah wins. If he loses either in the primaries or the general election, they're all going to go down with him, hard.

Shouldn't it be Mango MEssiah?
And interesting article - I think just sticking with a few points but not all the explanation would do though. 1) Both are coming into power in very polarizing times where the voice of moderates are being drowned out. 2) Both control parties that want to bring their country back in time, while ignoring issues from those times - Hitler with pre-WWI Germany, Trump with "Make America Great Again" 3) Both wanted to control business and industry by exploiting conspiracy theories - Hitler that the Jews were taking over, Trump with Mexico sending rapists and drug dealers 4) The Nazi party spread their message by buying up newspapers and converting them to propaganda machines for the party. Trump has co-opted Fox News and with the help of Sinclair media has bought-up or shut down most local news outlets. 5) (My addition) - Both men tried to manipulate elections. Hitler by posting armed guards at polls to intimidate voters, Trump by insisting the election was corrupt and the process had no safeguards in place to prevent ineligible people from voting.
And when people ask for proof, then expand on the theories. But just keep talking about the above and saying "Think about it"...
My biggest fear right now is AI - you can manipulate just about anything if you're good at it, and I suspect we're going to be seeing a lot of it to demonize anyone who is moderate or liberal in a few months.

I read somewhere that Smith is working to freeze his PACs funding (because fraud). That would be a hoot.
