Not participating in the debates. I guess since he owns the party he is above any challenges from within it.
Or is it because there'll be someone on that debate stage that knows where every bone is buried (including the one under his nose) and challenging him could backfire with all kinds of testimony?

But he has EVIDENCE TO CLEAR HIM! CLEAR HIM!
Chickenshit knows that Fox will snowball him and he knows that most of the Republicans will tune in to listen to him.

One would hope the other candidates grow some spines and spend at least part of their debate asking where he is and what he has to hide. And one can hope the debate moderators ask them point-blank if they will pardon him if he convicted in any of his many pending criminal cases. And then follow up with why?

I wonder if his lawyers have reviewed/edited the Carlson interview that he is releasing to compete with the debates?

Does it matter? He's going to say whatever the hell he wants anyway. I don't know how he's still able to convince people to represent him.

But he did cancel today’s presser about the “new, exonerating report” on advice from his counsel. And since this “interview” has already taken place and will be released as taped, it makes sense that his counsel would review it beforehand.

"Advice from his counsel" = I don't have shit against these charges.

Him and his bullshit smoke and mirrors was going to piss off a judge and lead him straight to jail for defying court orders, so if there was in fact advice from counsel it would have been "you're gonna fuck around and find out".
Once the indictments were made the evidence, real or imagined, must be submitted to the court does it not?
This "In my hand I'm holding the proof of my innocence" ain't gonna fly when you actually have to present it to people who have the authority to use blank pages and false testimony in determining where you might spend the next couple of weeks or months.

Yeah, but again it's pandering to his base and trying to incite violence if he's convicted.
So again, I say that the debate moderator asks each candidate to flat out answer if they'll pardon him or not. And give them 2 minutes to say why or why not.
If nothing else, we can verify who the traitors are up front. Not that it will sway most Republicans.

They are all traitors, since they pledged to vote for whoever gets the nomination, even it’s it is mango Mussolini.

This brings up another question. If, somehow, the tangerine turd loses the nomination, will he accept it? I say no.

Of course he won't accept it - don't be foolish.
I read a good article in the Atlantic this afternoon. Basically said that all of the candidates should refuse to debate him. Just flat out say that they're not interested in giving a platform to a man who is dishonest and under indictment in 4 different criminal cases. Not a bad idea.

Yeah, right. The only ones with any spine are Christie and Hutchinson. And I doubt they would do that. Christie is dying to go at him.

Romney and Cheney both should have run. Romney already had the nomination once I see no reason why he couldn't get it again. And I still say Pence can be the spoiler. He's got no shot at the nomination but a really good chance to bury Trump once and for all, and that possibility only increases if the two were to have an exchange on the debate stage. Can you imagine? If Pence folded he'd be laughed out of existence so I'd expect enough truth to shut it down forever.

Until Pence is willing to denounce Trump, there's no chance in hell he's going to get close to the primary, let alone the nomination. He's despised by the MAGA crowd for certifying the 2020 election, and despised by the moderates for not coming clean about Jan 6th.
On top of that, even if he came clean the facts are that he sat on his ass and let Trump enact whatever the fuck he wanted to without opening his mouth once.
I think of him in the same way I think about Guiliani - a person who rose to the occasion in one major time of crisis, but otherwise was total scum. Mario Cuomo falls into that category as well - he was a great leader on the Covid response, but before that he was on his way out of office and hated by the majority of New Yorkers.
And I really wish Cheney would throw her hat in the ring. But she may be waiting to see how things shake out a little and declare as an independent next year. It would actually be a great strategy on her part. If Trump does end up getting the nod, she could market herself as an alternative, and there are a lot of Democrats who would go to her side for her guts and integrity in leading the Jan 6th commission.
And while I don't agree with her political leanings in many matters, I do think that she is a person of integrity who would be willing to listen to the other side. So yeah, I'd consider her.
