Okay, so clearly I am ignorant on this whole thing, because I thought that they were actually going to shoot turkeys and was wondering how the hell that worked! Anyway, I have the opportunity to go to one - I'll have to pay the cost of 1/2 box of ammo, but they will loan me a gun, and teach me how to aim and shoot it in the hopes that I might hit somewhere around a target My question is - they are using 12-gauge shotgun. Will I dislocate my shoulder or otherwise kill myself? They said that as long as I didn't accidentally shoot any of them, they're fine with teaching me So advice?

Who is going to teach you? Is it as IWL on Garrisonville Rd?
Assuming it's experienced handlers then I'd not want to give you advice that conflicted with their instructions. There are a lot of variables like the barrel length, choke, and load. I assume they'll be using bird shot which doesn't kick half as much as 12ga buckshot. The only time I ever had a 12 gauge hurt me was when my asshole uncle put 3" slugs in it without telling me.
Basic safety rules are simple-
Always assume the gun is loaded. Never point a gun in the direction of something you don't intend to kill. Never put your finger on the trigger unless you are ready to kill it. Keep you eyes downrange and on target until you take your firing hand off the gun.

Some folks down in Ivor - I don't know what ammo they're using, but I'm assuming birdshot is cheaper than buckshot? If so, it will be birdshot.

No idea what they want for sg shells these days or what costs more. A fucking loaf of bread is $5 so you won't catch me at the gun shop anytime soon.

It's not until the 22nd, and there will be no pictures because White Tail has an extremely strict no pictures policy!

Yeah - do you want your naked behind posted all over the internet?
No cameras allowed - will get you banned for life. They make an exception if you are taking a picture of a property you need to sell, or a property you just purchased so you can advertise it or get insurance. But no one can be in the picture when you take it.

Yup - a nudist resort that's holding a turkey shoot. They have all sorts of stuff there - naked pickleball, 5k runs, dances... You should come try it out!

Once you swim naked, you'll never want a bathing suit again!

Sadly, the shoot has been cancelled due to weather. Supposed to pour on Saturday. Hoping they reschedule.

Butt naked is always on - it's a nudist resort!
It's a very nice place, and they have super-strict rules on things like photos, and sexual behavior. So giving your partner a quick kiss is okay. Making out by the pool is not. Same with staring or commenting on people's parts.
And they will ban you from coming back if you get caught doing those things too.
As a nudist you also know that any place you sit should be covered with a personal item that can be washed, such as a towel or robe. They're actually a pretty respectful bunch of people.

I. Just. Couldn't.
Never been that comfortable in my own skin. I can't even remember the last time I went outside without a shirt. Probably as a teenager.

Me, either, john. One time I skinny-dipped on a date. It was on spring break. We were staying free at a motel furnished to a team (regiment? Corps?) from the Air Force of which a friend’s sister was a member. Of course, they were delighted to welcome a group of girls, 19-20-something! One of the fly boys dared me to meet him at the pool at midnight on our last night there. I did.
Hating my body is one reason I love winter - I can cover up comfortably.

I get what you both are saying, and it's not for everyone.
But I will say it's very body-positive, and has helped me accept my body more. Once you see a bunch of people without clothes, you realize that everyone has physical flaws of some type and in the end it doesn't matter.
But if you had asked me 10 years ago if I'd own property at a nudist resort, I'd have laughed my damn ass off!
