🎶 You’re breaking my heart. Your shaking my confidence daily!🎵🎶
I know it’s Cecilia, but it fits. I have been inundated with tropical storm warnings for over 36 hours from the Tornado/Emergency app (whatever the Red Cross is calling it now). I live a mere 6 miles fro Colonial Beach, so I’m guessing I could see some pretty big winds here, along with flooding of the creeks off the Potomac (I can see Machodoc Creek from my bedroom window after the leaves fall). I fully expect my road to close due to flooding of the creek. And I am hoping and praying my ice maker delivery isn’t delayed!
It feels a lot like Isabel out there and not so much like Hugo, the blowhard. I don’t have a good feeling about this one.

Not good Pam. So far, it's been nothing here. I guess we'll get the high winds late this afternoon, but it looks like most of the rain will be on the coast.
But NC and Cape Hattaras are taking a direct hit.
I hope the ice maker arrives before the storm, and it's not as bad for your area as predicted. Please check in to let us know you're safe!

We had some really heavy rain - loud enough to keep me awake - overnight. And winds. But the winds haven’t been as bad as I anticipated. Now it’s just been pretty steady rain, which we really do need as long as it doesn’t all run off, and some wind gusts. I remember back maybe 30 years ago, we used to have days where it rained all day, or several days. Why doesn’t that happen anymore? I was wondering about that a while ago. Sure, we have cloudy days but it doesn’t rain all the time - just threaten.
Ice maker arrived all nicely packaged in a plastic bag (thanks FedEx!). I’ve unpacked it and letting it sit for a while to let the refrigerant settle before using it, as recommended. I managed to squeeze a 2 liter bottle into my fridge, so I have some chilled Diet Coke - so there’s no rush! As long as I can have some iced water to take upstairs when I go to bed.

Well Rally would tell you that clouds bring rain, so in the end we'll all be good...
The reality is that we've drained too many aquifers, and too many are using too much water - not enough evaporates to have proper rain. At least that's my opinion.
Most of the rain held off until we were within 30 minutes of closing the pantry - then the heavens truly opened. Felt sorry for the last few clients, as they were drenched just by walking from their car to the door.
