Holy Macaroni Batman!
Went down to Norfolk for the Mac & Cheese festival. Twas a sight for sure. 15 different vendors, all with their take on Mac & Cheese. Wasn't enough time to get to all of them, and my stomach was starting to tell me to slow my roll, and it was flashing the "BRAKE" light that you get when a collision was imminent.
Started out with Fried M&C - not bad. Then went for Tex/Mex. Would have been good, but they M&C cheese was only average, and kind of watery. Had a couple of traditional ones, then a vegan BBQ with 'meat' - wasn't expecting anything. But holy moly, that shit was for real good!
Went around the back - one with beer - meh. Mac & Cheese pizza. Not bad. Then came the Mother Ship - One Ball to Rule them All.
Fried Mac & Cheese balls. Perfect blend of cheese, and held the mac perfectly. They made it into a ball, then rolled it in panko and spices and fried it to a Golden Perfection. This shit was FOR REAL, and yes I did get seconds, cause I needed to confirm that the goodness was indeed real. Would have done another helping, but I ran out of coupons and was too cheap to buy more.
Also had street corn M&C - that was damned good, and 100% would eat again, but only if those balls were unavailable.
Finished off with almond cupcakes - chef's kiss!
Damn good thing that these were all places local to Norfolk, or I'd be at the ball place 24/7.

A Mac n cheese contest? My kids are always trying to upstage me with theirs lol. I do it different ways but most times baked. I'm going to freak them out next time and do a crockpot version.
I've seen the ones you're talking about on triple d bet it's the same place. They looked like hors derves in heaven. And it's ok to indulge because it's holy.

I told myself that God and his angels would make sure my indulgence did not cost me on the scale. And I was right - the walking around must have burned them off. Either that, or holy stuff contains no calories.
100% would do again.
