But others need to share in my trauma.
Giant sends me their weekly ad by email each week. This week features quick and easy frozen food, including Kraft Deluxe Mac & Cheese.
What is this travesty? Kraft M&C comes in a blue box with a package of powdered cheese, not in your grocer's freezer and certainly not advertised as something fancy!
Hell, when I was in college (and walking uphill both ways to the campus), Kraft was too rich for my blood. I ate generic mac & cheese in the white box with black lettering and I ENJOYED IT.
Kids today just need to throw something in the microwave and hit start - soft. Soft I tell ya!
BTW, my trauma is from complaining about this to kid 2, and getting a response of 'What do you mean by a white box? Like it was just white with Mac & Cheese on the front?'
I FEEL OLD!!!!!!

In college and when I first had a place of my own, I lived on cereal - sometimes with milk, when I could afford it but often dry, right out of the box. My sister lived on generic Mac & cheese when she got her first place. I guess we both missed the ramen noodle phase. 🤣

I ate a LOT of peanut butter sandwiches. If you plan it right, a loaf of bread can last two weeks I do remember the shock of manufacturers upon learning that generic products packaged like military surplus rations were not popular. Who knew? And it's rather ironic, as the white box of Mac and Cheese that I got for a quarter, was more like .40 in the store brand wrapper, but it was exactly the same stuff. And the store wrapped stuff was the name-brand in a different wrapper. Never underestimate the power of advertising!
