Bomb threats

Bomb threats were called into several VA high schools, including some in our area.

I think it's past time to pass laws that make bomb threats and swatting classified as class 1 felonies.  And if someone actually dies as a result of these calls, then the charge should be first degree murder.

They're not innocent pranks - they are attempts to terrorize people, and need to be taken more seriously IMO.  I think too many of us are stuck in the past in the time when someone pulled the fire alarm at school cause it was a nice day and they wanted to go outside for a bit.

I've noticed in my limited travels that since school has been back in session there's now at least one LEO at every school in our county and some with 2. Just counting the vehicles, not actual officers which I assume to be one per vehicle.

If it's not already a felony then it should be to make a bomb threat and if it's juveniles that do it, which are likely the case most times, their parents should be charged for felony child endangerment. A bomb threat to get out of a test you didn't study for rises to a terrorist threat and it's about time to put away childish things.
