Not me - both offspring said they never want to reproduce. Had to sit the spouse down and explain the whole concept of my body, my choice wasn't only for abortions... But anyway, there's a woman who had been coming to the food pantry. SIL had hurt his back and was in and out of work in an effort to keep his job. Granddaughter was born early with a bad kidney and they didn't know what would happen - they had to wait to have surgery until she had gained some weight. And it was touch-and-go. She came in every week and I got to know her, which is how I know all of this. Baby had successful surgery at about 10 months, and immediately started trying to make up for lost time. Anyway, she hasn't been in for a while - comes about every 6 weeks now. She was there yesterday and had pictures. The little one is now 15 months and is hitting all the milestones. And she helped carve the pumpkin for halloween! She's in the picture standing with a piece of pumpkin, trying to eat it. Grandma said she had the concept of carving it, but thought it meant she was going to get a snack So, so cute, and so wonderful to see her happy and thriving. And also happy that the family is getting on their feet financially too. Just good news all around for them.

People tend to forget how charmed their lives really are even when they are living paycheck to paycheck, barely getting by, or god forbid had to sit in a massive traffic jam for two hours while they scraped up the bodies from the wreckage.
Those who persevere through real difficulty and desperate adversity often have the most to offer in terms of wisdom and grace. Meanwhile someone around them is fuming about long the line at Starbucks that made them late for their hair appointment with their "amazing" stylist.
Hoping all the best for the child and her family and that the days ahead will be filled with health and happiness!
