Clearly there are some tone-deaf execs over there.
But the entire idea of a ham-bag baffles me. Like how long are you waiting to eat that thang? Ham doesn't last long around here, especially if it has a nice glaze!

Meh probably more lack of awareness than anything. I always got a kick out of the Subaru commercial that the dad hands the daughter the keys and the voice- over says "she grew up in the back of our Subaru""...

That Subaru commercial was a great one too!
None of this explains the purpose behind the Ham Bag however. Why would anyone put a fresh ham into a burlap or cloth sack?

Weren't those hams cured or smoked though? I do remember ham in a can with the damn key that always broke before you got the top off!
But the times we could afford fresh ham, it got eaten right away. And of course there are some hams that can go straight to food hell - I'm looking at you cottage ham!

I remember all the hams that used to hang in the sacks especially in the small stores and butcher shops. Country hams always came that way. My GM used to have to let that sucker sit in water for like 2 days before you could eat it to get the 4 inches of salt off it.
