Schumer has announced that the Senate is eager to get back to work and has stuff ready to go on the top priorities.
Funding the government without reducing domestic programs Aid to Ukraine More security at the southern border - mostly equipment to detect drugs faster and easier, and to improve pay for Border Patrol personnel Aid to Israel (which will be tied to the Ukrainian aid package)
There was something else, but I forgot what it was. Either way, it's nice to see the Dems be proactive.

And Biden is finally starting to open his mouth a little more and talk about what he has done.
Latest is the supply chain snafu - Biden had the DOT look into what happened and more importantly how to prevent a repeat - they were able to work with ports to clear the backlog and do it fast. And they are now working with other countries who ship stuff her to prevent it from happening again. In the meantime, Biden is evoking the defense authorization act to require drug manufactures to produce antibiotics and other essential drugs in the US.
While it's not all drugs, he has gotten manufactures to agree to negotiate prices of the 10 most expensive drugs with Medicare, which should bring down prices on them.
He's ordered the education department to automatically enroll all new loans in an income-based repayment plan and made it easier for people with existing loans to enroll. He tried to pass some form of forgiveness, but was blocked by Republicans and SCOTUS (which people seem to forget).
And he and Blinken were pretty instrumental in getting the current cease fire in Gaza, and are 100% pushing for a 2 state solution to the issue.
So he has done stuff that he needs to point out to folks.
Because unless folks see that the Dems are trying to get shit done, we're not going to make more progress on things like getting people help with SNAP and expanded coverage under the ACA.

They need to be 1000% more aggressive in getting those messages out to the people. One need not be a supporter of every policy to understand that overall, the current administration is focused on and making improvements to the way government works for EVERYONE. I would keep that topic on every single Democrat's communication with their constituency, at every podium, every town hall, and with as much exposure on every type of media as possible. They should stop saying anything about their opponents unless asked, at which time there needs to be a unified message with something to the effect of "we don't like people that subvert the Constitution and the laws of our land" and leave it at that.
As a voter I want to know what's in it for me. I want to know what's in it for my family, friends, community, and the future of this country. If you as a politician run solely on dirt between the toes of your opponent, you deserve to lose.

As always, we are in agreement on this.
And one thing Biden needs to get ahead on is his messaging on the Israel/Hamas conflict. Right now, his whole emphasis is on Israel and ignores the death toll of mostly women and children who have no connection to Hamas.
A lot of the 'criminals' that Israel is releasing are teens who did nothing more than throw a rock at a soldier, or were in the middle of a protest simply shouting slogans. Not hardened terrorists who should be locked up for years.
So something more balanced. The horrors inflicted by Hamas are the very definition of evil. But bombing hospitals and refugee camps in Gaza will do nothing to eliminate that evil. I call on all parties to come together to combat the evils of terrorism - Hamas, Islamic Jihad, ISIS, the Taliban and others. Both Israelis and Palestinians want the same thing - to live in peace without the threat of terrorism hanging over them. Let us work to have free and fair elections and to have both groups live beside each other, so no one has to endure watching a loved one die.

Oh and on student loan debt?
By Biden forcing all loan servicers to enroll everyone in income based plans, 813K students saw their loans completely forgiven. And those plans were put in place back in the Bush Jr era, so it was all completely legal.
I can get that he himself doesn't want to brag, but goddamn it, they should have SOMEONE doing it!
