Big John's foot hurts. Plantar fasciitis confirmed AND 2 bone spurs on the heel- one where the achilles tendon attaches in the back and the other where the plantar tendon attaches to the bottom of the heel. She offered to do the injection right there on the spot knowing the pain had to be obnoxious. I declined in lieu of trying therapy first. With my attacks of the past two weeks, I didn't want to trigger anything right now. Someone I know told me a few weeks ago that had she known the shot was going to be so excruciatingly painful that she would have not have done it. I've had panic attacks that were started by sharp pains so..... Also, since I've barely been on my feet over the weekend it wasn't bothering me much today. Bawk! Bawk! BaaaGawwwk!
PS- I showed up at the appt and realized on my way in that I had forgotten my wallet. Because of course I did. I figured that would pretty much mean aborting the appointment but decided to go in and see what they said. Lo and behold the receptionist checking me in looked up all my insurance stuff.... I don't know how.... but even got my license. I was like "that was neat what did you find it at the post office?". So I was good to go. Great experience with Dr. Elizabeth Bourret at Fxbg Foot & Ankle.

Ah, bone spurs! You and our wannabe dictator. (Although I’m betting his were fake.). Glad you have a diagnosis and I’m hoping that relief will come soon.
Back before I finally got my diagnosis, a finger ligament slipped out of place, causing me to not have a functioning “fuck you” finger on my right hand. Saw Dr. Eglevsky, who was treating me for the various joint pains I was experiencing. He shot a megadose of cortisone into the finger (it turned white), then worked it back and forth and up and down until the ligament popped back into place. That shot should have been a clue, because the next 36-48 hours were a miracle. No pain! I felt 16 again! I still say steroids are a miracle. And a curse.

I thought the same thing at first. Now I can't be drafted! Let's go golfing!
It was unexpected but not all that surprising. I spent most of my life working on my feet and so much of that time on plain old cold concrete slab floors, hours and hours of a day on ladders, roofs, attics (think: joists) etc etc etc. It takes it's toll on the whole body from the ground up.

Does this mean you can be the next pres-i-dent?
And damn, that sounds painful - hoping the therapy helps to relive things somewhat.

It doesn't help that I already stub it a lot because of my back problems. Not to forget that the other heel was broken and ankle tore up in 3 places 30 years ago in a work accident. It also acts up and causes me problems but that plantar faciitis is no joke.
