My parent failed me. They told me a good education was more important than coordination...

It boggles the mind. None of the most highly regarded brilliant scientists, doctors, researchers....... yet a guy playing a game, even if he's the best in the history of the world and the game, is playing a game and "earns" profane amounts of compensation for his ability to play, did I mention, A GAME?
Not new obviously. Eventually someone will shoot a thing in a hoop, net, basket, or throw a football and receive a billion dollar contract. I refuse to participate in perpetuating that by supporting it in any way. What do you think discovering the cure for diseases pays and does that have anything to do with why we don't have cures for the worst of them?

But John, those owners worked hard and EARNED their millions. And so did all of these athletes! EARNED THEM.
The saddest part of sports aren't the kids who don't 'fulfil their potential' and have careers end after graduating. It's the kids who get a contract and basically play for nothing while goombas like Ohtani get billions.
You read stories of Low A and AA players who either live 6 people to a one bedroom apartment, or live out of their cars because they can't afford rent. All hoping against hope that they'll be called up and eventually make it to the big show. And the majority of them will never get there.
