Minx's post about being cold and breaking the bread beer barrier reminded me of this thread. I know it's the 12th, you could say it either way like "it's already the 12th" or "it's only the 12th" but so far I haven't made any progress toward the goals I mentioned above. However, speaking of the bread beer barrier, I've made the decision to start this off with eliminating one thing from my diet and it's going to be the beer. It's time. I've been feeling like shit on days after a few, and completely worthless on days after a few more. Messes with my sleep, which seems to be the catalyst for everything else. So anyway, there goes -600 to 1200 calories a couple days a week which 3500 is a pound, and I was easily doing that a week.

Next is food from places with a drive thru window. Not a problem for us 99% of the time as we've not had anything from those places since the new year anyway. Pizza may be more problematic but I can deal with thin crust, light sauce, and mushrooms n spinach. The problem with that is she ain't down for any such nonsense so pizza probably has to go too. I figure these things, along with ditching the nectar of the gods, should be enough to get this literal oversized load moving in the right direction.

PS- I've got a Dr appt first of next month in the old hood and if everything holds together, plan to meet up with a few folks at the DDI. Sucks but almost everything is back on the table that day. I have to drive back home that evening and as such, will have to restrict myself to only a couple of beers and absolutely no chili.

Don't know if she'd be up to it, but we found that getting a pizza stone and purchasing store-made dough can make a mighty fine 'za. Might be worth looking into.

Her MRI was not as bad as we feared but she does have a mildly non-alcoholic fatty liver. There's not been a consensus yet about the cause but the two leading suspects are her former MS drug Tecfidera and high cholesterol. MRI also revealed gallstones but said "without gallbladder inflammation" and nothing about any blockages which is where problems start. We are waiting on the referral for GI.... because she's apparently going to need to see every specialist there is at some point along the way.

She also needs to cut a few pounds not only for medical reasons necessarily but also to aid in transferring herself. Long story short, she likes Pan Pizza with Sausage and Pepperoni so like I said, pizza might have to go. I dare not offer her anything without those toppings on a cauliflower crust with low fat cheese and sugar-free salt-free pizza sauce (so, plain tomatoes) for fear of being murdered in my sleep. A much better alternative is to have a SMALL pizza the way she likes it every couple of months rather than a couple of times a month. I'm going to need to make some changes in what I eat as well, so that we aren't struggling with two menus every day.
