To be honest, I say no. You are innocent until proven guilty, and I'd like to see the names of all perps hidden until their case is adjudicated. Names should only be released if necessary in cases where police can't locate the suspect and have no other options available.
Too many people have had their lives destroyed by false accusations or police getting the wrong person. In the past, I would have said to release the name but the more I read about how sloppy the system is, the more I'm against it. Once someone is convicted, then it's free-game in terms of releasing names.
I'm also in favor of holding prosecutors and police responsible if they get the wrong guy and leave that person to rot in jail. Too many people wrongly convicted and the system does nothing to hold those responsible for obtaining that conviction responsible.

There was a guy in the old neighborhood across the road that had seen a kid fall of their bike and he stopped to check on him. Next thing you know he's arrested for attempting to abduct the child. I believe his wife left him. Someone set his house on fire. Then the true story came out and it was too late to unfuck it all.
So I concede to your point and may have jumped the shark a little based on the heinousness of the "alleged" crime. However, based on the "alleged" crime cited, they caught him in the act!
However, in some cases I still think it's totally justified. Say this shitbag is still on the loose, for example. Maybe he's struck two or three times already, and the police know who it is but need the public's help finding him. Surely you can't take the same position under those circumstances.
and I think my point is why treat a minor differently than adult offenders? I will use the caveat that after being found guilty/convicted would be more appropriate, but not entirely necessary 100% of the time.

Wow! I was riding my bike “hands free” down the street (it was a downward incline toward our house) when my front tire hit a rock. I remember nothing after that. Evidently, the man responsible for building most of the houses in Grafton Village, Russell Sullivan, just happened by and took me home. The first thing I remember after hitting the rock is sitting in the bathroom and my mom commanding me to open my mouth so she could make sure my teeth were okay (I had been in braces about 7 years at that time). 🤣🤣 How horrible for your neighbor!

A lot of what I said above is incorrect- starting with it not even being him that checked on the boy (fell off his scooter) so he literally had zero idea wtf was going on. I still think the fire was set but what I think doesn't matter.

Thing is that they're pretty much throwing the book at this kid to see what can stick. So even though he was caught in the house, was he really trying to rape the woman, or was he trying to corner her so he could lock her in a closet or something (not that that's a great thing either). Yet he's being charged with attempted rape along with kidnapping.
That's why I say to wait. Too many people are getting tried in the court of public opinion today.
And yeah, once he's been convicted, they should release his name.

Giving people the benefit of the doubt has always been my biggest weakness.
