Will be going up again soon. Going up a lot. www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/avian-flu-devastates-californias-poultry-farms-as-new-wave-of-outbreaks-roils-industry#:~:text=The%20highly%20contagious%20virus%20has,farmers%2C%20workers%20and%20their%20customers. The first farm mentioned in the article just killed 550,000 egg-laying chickens because of an outbreak, and they are not alone. There is a huge outbreak of Avian flu in California (the 'Egg Basket' of the country), and it will cause an egg and chicken shortage before long. I'd say that it might not happen until after the election, simply because at any given time there are a lot of eggs floating around, and smaller producers will help fill in the gaps for a bit. I didn't know this, but Avian flu is spread by wild birds like geese and ducks - they are immune to it. When they migrate and fly over an area where chickens and turkeys live, their droppings land on the ground where those birds peck around - and it only takes one or two birds getting sick to destroy an entire flock. It's quite contagious. Which of course, brings up the question - who caused this? Biden or Trump. Because as we all know, the President has sole power to control prices and profits!

Didn’t I read that there was a vaccine soon to be available to prevent this after the outbreak last year? What happened to it?

I had a bad experience with my Walmart order today. It wasn't eggs. $188 in my cart right now and I haven't hit a whole bunch of ADD buttons yet.
You couldn't hardly haul $188 dollars of groceries without a u haul when I had kids. No idea how they do it nowadays

I'd say that a lot of people go without.
Did grocery shopping this weekend - $70 at Giant. For vegetables, chicken, yogurt, eggs and milk. Oh, and the chicken was on sale, cause it's sell-by date is today.

And there were about 12 large packages of chicken who's sell by date is today. I hope to hell they freeze them and donate them to the food bank.
