I guess it's a start, but it's really total pandering to the Muslim community in Michigan. They're threatening to sit this one out if he doesn't speak out more about the violence Israel is committing against Gaza, especially when they're not actually doing anything to wipe out Hamas.
And by sit out - they're being encouraged to go to the polls and vote - just not for president - leave that section blank or write in neither.
While I agree with this strategy in a regular election, this is not one of those, and Biden needs to do more on this front.
A simple "The world needs to all step up to eliminate the scourge that terrorist organizations like Hamas and others pose to the people of the middle east, especially Israel. At the same time, Israel needs to stop this scorched earth campaign of wiping out all of Gaza in search of a small number of terrorists. This is not helping free the hostages who are still captive, Israelis or Palestinians. I call for an immediate cease-fire. In return, Hamas MUST account for every one of the remaining hostages, and Israel MUST agree to allow humanitarian aid to immediately enter Gaza - people are starving and in need of medical care and shelter. To not allow this is inhumane and cruel.".

Pandering for votes? LOL isn't the greek word for pandering "politics"? Yes it's a step in the right direction rather than a haphazard leap into yet another quagmire we can't get out of and will eventually cost hundreds of American lives. I'll take the former, votes be damned.
As for "small number of terrorists"..... sorry but that's a cop-out and you know it. Anyone in Hamas is a defacto terrorist, which according to recent reports number around 25,000. Now that might be a small number in terms of the overall population of Gaza but it's no secret that Hamas aggressively recruits every square inch of [their] territory. You can bet that if you aren't with them, you're with them whether you like it or not. How many of those non-Hamas residents of Gaza would choose to side with the Israel, the US, or anyone else in ridding themselves of Hamas?

Seeing as how Israel has historically treated the Palestinian people, I can't see any of them siding with Israel. Even before the Hamas attack in October, Israel restricted them heavily and treated every one of them as criminals and terrorists. Plus, they have encroached on their territory settlement by settlement. So I do get the resentment and hatred from that corner.
Not sure how they would respond to our offer - our reputation in the middle east is not a great one. But I do wonder if they'd accept an offer from someone like the Saudis to rid themselves of these scumbags.
My comment about small numbers is based off of Israel not capturing very many terrorists in this whole campaign. A small amount here and a small amount there - no where near 25,000. At the same time, I also wonder if Hamas is as large as they claim they are too. And it totally fries my bacon that their leaders are partying hard in Qatar without any real threats to them.
