Hit 3 furniture stores yesterday to find her a new lift chair. Prices obviously slashed, slashed I say, during Trump Day.
Those salespeople get you like bell hops lol. I assume it was all hands on deck but there was hardly anyone at La Z Boy, like 2 or 3 other cars out front, and only a handful more at Ashley. We haven't talked about it yet this morning but I'm betting on her picking the one she saw at the DMS place next to the vet emergency clinic in Central Park, which had more people in it than the other two places combined. Sale prices between $2000-$2500 for the ones she was looking at except for Ashley which was half that. Probably because they were garbage.

Yeah, the prices for furniture are through the roof, and the furniture itself is a piece of shit.
Same with most appliances too.

La Z Boys sale was actually pretty good and their quality is a lot higher. My old man's lift chair was like 4 grand and that was probably close to 10 years ago. The one she picked was around $2500 without the extended warranty, which I think would be prudent in her situation. It covers stains and everything, no pro-rating, for around an extra $230. They had a super nice one on Clearance for $1900 but the fabric was an off white.... eesh. that one would be an absolute must to get the extra warranty. At least with LZB we could match hers with other furniture, like a manual recliner for me, come the sales later in the year.
The other chair she found at the DME store is made by Pride Mobility, which makes the power chairs she's owned. The quality of those is questionable even though the lift chair seemed well made. The wheelchairs work great mechanically, but the contacting materials (arm covers, seat covers, etc) are shit.
Oh, and both of the models she liked have battery back-ups built in. The LZB uses 2 9v batteries and the Pride has a lithium included. We had a power outage in LBG when she was reclined in her current chair. It was NOT pretty.
