My laptop finally shot the bed a couple of days ago so all I've got is my phone. New laptop Chromebook hybrid should be here hopefully by Friday.

If all I had was my phone, I'd be screwed - can't type as it is....

Sucks hind titty for sure. Very tough on my eyes I don't know how people stare at such a small screen all day. Gives me sore eyes and a headache.

Every morning, before I get up to face the day, I get caught up on the news on my phone. Depending on the news day, this may take an hour or two. By the time I’m done, tears are streaming from my eyes and my nose is running like a faucet. I used to be able to read fine without corrective lenses, but my doc tells me I’m straining my eyes now and should be using glasses. Ugh.

I'm blind as a bat - need glasses to see anything.

I haven’t been able to read in bed with glasses since I migrated to bifocals. Since I’m lying down, I don’t have the correct angle to utilize the bifocal part of the lenses needed to see up close. Most of the time, I’m on my side, due to back issues, which makes using bifocals even more difficult. I’ve always been blind with distance, but that distance is becoming shorter as I age. But I’ve always been able to see up close - real close. My phone is about 8 inches from my face when I’m reading in bed. 🤣

Speaking of lying in bed, I had a very strange occurrence Saturday night/Sunday morning. As I drifted off to sleep, I suddenly felt like I was falling. It was so bad, I got nauseous! The only way I could get relief was to move - my head, my shoulders - anything. I have never had this happen and could not make it stop. As soon as I started to drift off, the feeling of falling down a huge tunnel would return and my head would swim. Eventually, I removed all my sleep masks, as the cool air provided some relief and I finally drifted off after a couple hours of nausea. I checked for stroke symptoms but detected no issues. Very odd.
I’ve had the drunken spinning room issue. This wasn’t the same. Also, with vertigo, lying motionless has always been the cure - not the cause. So I am not sure exactly what this was but it was miserable. My balance was off the following day as well, but that may not be a symptom, as I often have days where I’m unsteady on my feet.
Then there was Monday morning. I was, again, drifting off to sleep and noticed a rumbling, mechanical sound outside my window. It sounded as though a huge truck was sitting in my front yard, idling! I took off the sleep masks and a bright light was shining in my eyes! An alien invasion? Have they come to haul me away? No, it was the trash collectors. At 0230! Holy crap! I always worried about bothering my neighbors when I took out the recycling early in the morning, as those bottles, cans and jars make a racket when falling into the recycling bin. But this was much louder than that! I think it was more noticeable because there was very little traffic at that time. When they come later in the day, the traffic noise encompasses the truck noise. Traffic here doesn’t pick up until 4 AM.

I do get vertigo even lying flat and motionless, so maybe it was that.
And Holy Crap on the trash folks!
