Ahhh. 58 degrees is much more comfy in my sweats. I was so chilled by bedtime it took forever to warm up. I had to eventually turn the fan down to low as my nose felt like a giant (still a bit swollen with an ugly knot that wasn’t there before) ice cube. I almost fetched my new heated blanket that I’ve been saving for next winter but I resisted. Now I’m back to a cane in one hand and holding up my pants with the other. 🤣🤣
Those wisteria buds may not pop open for a few days, but when they do it will be magnificent. I hope I don’t miss it.

Is that lilac? Our dogwood looks so beautiful and proud out front now that the other two are gone. Have an ant problem that needs to be addressed sooner than later so they don't kill it, which I'm not sire is even a thing but not taking any chances.
I was out there for all of 20 minutes with the sun literally cooking my face. Either need one of those canopies (used to have one no ideer where it got off to) or I'm gonna be deck building from 5 until dark every night, which heavily fucks with my schedule.

I didn’t want to say anything, but I definitely noticed!
That’s wisteria, John. It’s a very prolific vine - it takes over! I’m extremely sorry I planted them so close to the house, as it’s growing through the gutters, on the roof and into the garage. I should have put it in the front yard and created a bush effect with it. I hope to have someone come in and trim it way back once it’s done blooming. It’s pretty much decimated my lilac, which is in front of the fence it’s growing on. There are still a few branches left, bravely hanging on but I’m not sure if it will bloom this year. But the reason the wisteria is blooming so beautifully this year is because I haven’t had it trimmed for a few years. Unless it’s trimmed very early in the fall, it won’t bloom.
And minx, I think you will miss the hottest day, which was today. But there hasn’t been a lot of humidity in this latest heat wave. Yet. So I’ve been able to keep the AC off downstairs and still be comfortable.

I'm back - I brought the rain back with me. Rained almost all week in Vancouver, which was just as well because we were in meetings almost the entire week, so not much chance to do any sightseeing.
And of course, the difference in temps has clogged my sinuses completely, so I am happy that the rain will clear the pollen for 5 minutes or so!

Speaking of sinuses, does anyone else have issues depending on upon which side you sleep? I *always* sleep on my left side, mainly because I seem to have more post nasal drip if I sleep on my right. But, recently I’ve noticed that my right nostril also completely blocks f I try to sleep on that side. But, if my nostril is already blocked, switching to that side *can* unblock it! Very odd.
Yes, I’m odd.

I've noticed that as well - probably something to do with how the sinuses drain.
Right now I am completely blocked up and feel like crap. Took some dayquil and hoping that it's not a sinus infection.

Doctors- John, you need to stop using the Afrin because it can become habit forming. Me- Listen. I've been using Afrin every day for 40 years and I can quit any time I want.

My mother used nasal sprays all the time. And, I’m reminded of a funny episode of “King of Queens” where Carrie’s dad succumbed to his nasal spray addiction. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I take Xyzal every day before bed and use Flonase when my allergy attacks are bad (especially with a sinus headache). My sinuses are usually clear when my head hits the pillow for my first round. After 2-3 hours, I arise to pee. It’s at this point that the restless legs kick in and I’m thrashing about for a bit. Another 4 hours and I’m back up to pee again. This is when the nasal passages start giving me problems. I blow before I head back to bed, but it doesn’t matter. They’re clear until I lie down. It’s like clockwork.
Speaking of restless legs, I found a magnesium supplement that says it has no laxative effects, so I am adding that to see if it helps.

Oy! It's going to be warm today. There was a crew tending someone's lawn a couple of houses down yesterday and I had them come over and cut/trim for me, so I'm truly thankful that I don't have to deal with it this week with my other project in progress. First time I've ever paid someone for lawn care and it was worth every penny.

Haven't touched it yet although I've watched about 100 youtube videos on repairing Stihl equipment, so I have a plan of action when I finally get around to it. I'm doo-dads deep in trying to get this ramp built and not focusing on anything else at the moment. It's not like we'll be spending any quality time on the porch/deck where bugs are a nuisance, until I'm finished out there anyway.

What a beautiful morning! It’s kind of brisk! And the peonies are starting to emerge, along with iris. Although these iris are a little water-logged. This peony is what my dad called a “tree peony’. Its stalks are “woodier” than the traditional double plants I have and it blooms much earlier. It also grows taller. The traditional ones are budding. Depending on the weather, they will bloom in about 10 days or so. (Peonies were one on my mom’s favorite.)

I think I’ll be bringing the sweats out tonight. I’ve been a bit chilly, even with a blanket and hoodie. I’m loving this cool weather! It’s great for sleeping (although my AC was running for a while yesterday). And the blooms are lasting so much longer on all he beauteous flora. But 60 is a bit too chilly for capris.

Ugh. I stepped outside about 1130 am to check for blooms on the hydrangeas and the humidity hit me in the face! Ewwwwwww.
At least it’s still 60 and NOT humid inside, but I don’t think that’s going to last much longer. 😢

Between being spoiled with those 60s and no humidity, and not feeling it AT ALL today, I've been working twice as hard at avoiding going out there and working on the ramp. One trip to Lowe's and a separate trip to Weis. Came out of both sweating like a greased pig and my anxiety is twerking pretty good today as well.
Problem is that it's supposed to be a wash out tomorrow so that leaves only Saturday to finish since we're expecting a house-full on Sunday. They've been calling for rain that day pretty consistently so if I don't finish, it'll be a beautiful day and no one will be able to go outside. If I do finish (to the point where it's usable but not necessarily complete), it'll rain until the animals start lining up 2 by 2. I truly can't wait to get it over with and move on with my life.
