I hope all the rain and wind doesn’t bring down the pine tree that is still hovering over my fence. 🤞🤞

That's a lot to do. And I know it's been beyond frustrating, but better to have it done the right way - I bet that ramp outlasts your great-grandchildren! We'll see. Ran into a complication with the ramp. The concrete patio is not level and has a significant "rake" for, presumably, water runoff away from the house. I didn't stop to consider that from the outset so in order to accomplish a level platform at the bottom, I'm going to have to get involved in some sort of AAE fix/masonry solution (concrete, mortar, etc) which will also involve surface prep that is not going to be fun AT ALL. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. The most frustrating part is not having the physical ability anymore, which lends itself to my snail's pace and diminished skills I once considered pretty advanced. Not that I ever made a scratch on a real carpenter's butt, but couple definitely hold my own both physically and mentally (talk about math in your head!), and don't remember walking away from any project not proud to say it was my best work. Now I couldn't get hired to operate a broom.

Now if only someone could say that to the one that really needs to hear it.

Judging from the 10 day forecast, I may be able to hold off on the AC in the main portion of the house at least until next weekend! Yes! (Although my electric bill is more this month by a few cents than last.). Oh, and maybe even continue with the sweats! Cozy!

Going to have a literal house full today since the weather is going to suck for being outside. Should have brought the outdoor table and chairs in the garage yesterday. Oh well, at least I have enough Ativan to get through today. Hopefully.

I hoping it holds off so people can at least wander in and out. Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping it goes well. Remember that playing with grandsons also helps

What absolutely gorgeous day! Nice sharp shadows. Bright sunshine, no haze. Just beautiful. A slight nip in the air. A little reminiscent of early fall. I can dream that we skipped summer, can’t I?

I hoping it holds off so people can at least wander in and out. Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping it goes well. Remember that playing with grandsons also helps Thanks. Kids came a little early so got to spend some one on one time with Nugget. My SIL said he thought it was extremely akward when the others got here but I didn't really think of it that way. Of course, I stayed busy in the kitchen and with the baby as much as possible. The kids helped me out quite a bit, too. Daughter helped put together some of the food and son and SIL worked the grill for me. It actually was fine outside but too wet for anyone to congregate out there. I slept like a freakin rock last night. No oomph forecast for today.

Thanks, it made me day for sure. I didn't do much yesterday but did manage to fire up the new self propelled mower. I got 3/4 of the yard done and was pretty happy with it. It does seem to have a problem with the blade hitting the housing when it's off kilter, like twisting I guess is the best way to put it, when you are transitioning from one uneven spot to another. One of the tires is worn so it likes to pull toward the side with the good one, kind of like a car that pulls to one side out of alignment. Still, saved me quite a bit of the stress on my back which was nice. A few simple mods and it should be fine until I decide on a cheap riding mower, or should I say, can save up enough for one. The decision was already made.
Yes indeed. And now it's back to my nail bending. Great weather for it.

Spring is bursting out all over!
Clematis was opening as I took this. Lots of future blooms, too.
My one red peony this year. Almost.
my favorite of irises. I love the blue ones, too.
Near the end for the tree peony
azalea is trying but is overwhelmed by the butterfly bush. It’s huge even after being nearly crushed by the winter storm 18 months ago.

I'm in with the sun and out with the clouds. Until around 3:30-4:00 when the blazing blistering yellow ball of pain is completely over the house and the back is in the shadow. Then I can steady hump it until dinner time.
I have really bad skin issues and keep forgetting to buy sunscreen. The past couple of days were nice because I could wear long sleeves. That's not an option today.

Lupus means no sun at all for me. Putting on sunscreen has been part of my daily routine for over 40 years. When working outside, I wore big hats as well. And as a teen I was a sun worshipper.
Now, with my retina issues, I avoid it at all costs. My mom said I used to squint even as a baby!🤣🤣🤣. Unfortunately, it’s hard to avoid the blue light because LED lights are everywhere. It’s hard wearing sunglasses indoors. 🤣🤣

Although it’s still only 63 in here, I may turn on the AC when I head upstairs later today. It’s going to be in the low 70s today and warmer next week. 😢😢😢 It was nice while it lasted.
While I was out yesterday, taking out the recycling and giving my car battery a nudge, I unfortunately glanced up and got a snoot full of pollen (I could actually see it in the air!). My nose has been running like a faucet ever since.

That’s a nasty looking front due to hit us this afternoon. Hopefully it will pass quietly. 🤣🤣🤣 Those big thunderstorms can be quite alarming when they awaken you from a deep sleep!
It’s already humid out there.

The storms yesterday beat down the flowers some, but I did get a few pictures.
The stem broke on this beauty. I probably should have brought it in but I figured the bees and hummingbirds need it more than I. More of my favorite iris. I wish my mail lady didn’t have such a penchant for cutting back the clematis! poor bloom is so heavy, particularly after the rain.

I also have some pitiful hydrangeas (they get too much shade from my wonderful oak). There are some buds but they haven’t been spectacular for a while. Then it will be only hardy hibiscus. It seems that the last of the gladioli were pulled up with the latest cleanup.

Beyoutiful outside today. I left for my appointment in a hoodie and sweats (it was still in the fifties!) but ended up ditching the hoodie when I arrived at CVS. Enjoy!

We're headed to UVA this afternoon. Hoping she's up to stopping somewhere on the way home that has some outdoor seating with a view, and a halfway decent lunch menu. Any ideas between here and Charlottesville?
